    Printers can text as well as graphics on paper. Various types of printers are available in terms of quality, speed, and cost. The print quality from hard-copy output devices can vary considerably. Terms like, typeset-quality, near-typeset-quality, letter-quality, near-letter-quality, standard-quality and compressed print are used for printer quality. They can print the desired output very easily, efficiently and quickly.

    Type-set-quality print used in most magazines or textbooks is letters and characters fully formed, using solid lines. Near-typeset-quality print is similar in quality to that is that is produced by type setting equipment. Letters and characters are fully formed, using a series of tightly packed dots. Letter-quality print is mad using fully formed characters, as opposed to characters formed by series of lines or dots. Printers that produced characters composed of series of dots or short lines, can print in near-letter-quality print mod by head passing on the same line multiple times. Standard quality print are also called draft-quality print, is produced when a single pass of a prints head forms drafts composed of dots and lines. Compressed print, lists characters in compressed form very close together to conserve space.
    These two types of printing mechanism are;

      Printers:
      Very large varieties of printers are available today to be attached to a PC. Dot matrix, Laser-jet is only some of the more popular types. Most printers available today cannot only print test but also pictures with or without colors. A brief introduction to the main characteristics of these printers is now going to be given:

      Dot Matrix Printer:
      A dot matrix printer is the cheapest form of printer available for a PC. Most dot matrix printers can print text and diagrams, albeit only in a black and white mode. Dot matrix printers print with a quality slightly inferior to one produced by an ordinary typewriter. Because they construct each character shape by combining every tiny individual dots. The quality of price of a dot matrix printer depends on two factors: (1) matrix density, (2) the maximum speed it can print which is measured by in terms of number of characters it can print in one minute.

      Laser Printer:
      It is the most popular type of printer today especially in offices and places of business. These types of printers use a special beam of light called (LASER) to transfer images of characters or any other shape on the paper. The shape once again is formed by means of microscopic dots. The quality of laser printer can be exceptionally high and often can mach a top quality photograph or commercial printing.

      Ink Jet Printer
      An Ink Jet printer is a relatively recent invention. It prints by shooting very tiny drops of ink on the paper to form characters. Ink jet printers are considerably slower than laser jet printers and can print at speed ranging from 1 page per minute up to 6 pages per minute. However, they are considerably cheaper. For example a perfectly good quality color ink jet printer can cost less than a comparable laser jet printer. Though, the cost of printing one page on an ink jet printer can be two to four times that of a laser printed page of equally good quality.

        A computer printer, or more regularly a printer, produces a tough copy (undeviating human-readable passage and/or graphics) of documents stored in electronic form, usually on physical print medium such as paper or transparencies. Many printers are first and foremost used because CPU peripherals, and are enduringly fond of by a printer cable to a computer which serves as a file source. Other printers, frequently known as network printers, have built-in network interfaces (classically wireless or Ethernet), and can serve up as a hardcopy device for any customer on the network.

        Another aspect of printer knowledge that is often onwards is resistance to alteration: liquid ink such as from an inkjet head or fabric ribbon becomes absorbed by the document fibers, so documents written with fluid ink are more hard to alter than ID printed with toner or solid inks, which do not go in below the paper surface.

        Printers are routinely confidential by the underlying publish technology they employ; copious such technologies have been developed over the years.A printer which is combined with a scanner can for all intents and purposes purpose as a photocopier.
