    Consumers are termed to any individual who purchases any kinds of goods and services with money. However, different fields term consumers as something different. In the field of economics a consumer spends within a particular budget on goods and services that are available in the market. Under the postulation of rationality, the account allocation is selected according to the first choice of the consumer, i.e. to capitalize on his or her utility function.

    The second field is in Law and Politics. Here it refers to in terms of consumer protection laws. This is law helps to protect consumers from any kind of inequalities of bargaining power amid the consumer and the businesses. This law also offers various consumer reports and choice magazines, to help in consumer education and decision making.
