Easter is the celebration of the crucifixion (hanging on the cross) and resurrection (second coming) of Jesus celebrated with eggs, of the chocolate and non-cocoa kinds.

Contrary to what many people think, Easter is not a single day, but it is actually a season that begins on Easter Sunday and continues for seven full weeks. This seven-week cycle is known historically as the Great 50 Days or the Week of Weeks. During this time, the church celebrates the Lord's resurrection, His appearances to the disciples after Easter, His post-resurrection teachings, His ascension into heaven, and the disciples' eager anticipation of the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.

The 40th day, Ascension Day, is frequently commemorated with a special evening worship service since it always falls on a Thursday. The final week of Easter is called Holy Week. The foundation of the Christian faith is the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who lived the righteous and perfect life that humankind, because of their fallen and corrupt nature, cannot. He suffered the penalty for human sins by taking our guilt upon Himself and dying horribly on the cross. He rose bodily from the dead that first Easter morning ensuring that we who have been baptized into His death and resurrection will rise again in glorified bodies on the Last Day.  This is the great paschal mystery that Christians have celebrated since the earliest days of the church.

On Easter Sunday, while secular society occupies itself with eggs and rabbits, the Christian church celebrates God's great triumph over sin, death, and the devil. In 2012, Ash Wednesday is on February 22 and Easter Sunday on April 8.

Easter was originally a non-Christian, heathen, ungodly, celebration in the world. Later, Christians as a result of Constanople's ruling, became a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus when, after his burial following being cruicified on a Roman cross, he rose from the dead, they believe, and later returned to Heaven with his Father and the Holy Ghost.

Easter is celebrated to mark the rebirth of Jesus Christ. Jesus was resurrected from the dead on this particular day. Jesus was crucified two days before Easter and that day was known as Good Friday. In these two days, Jesus went through hell and all the sins of mankind were washed away. It is said that Jesus died for the betterment of mankind. On this day, there is a great feast which is held and is attended by one and all. Easter is not just celebrated by Christians but by all the religions of the world. A special mass is held on that particular which all the family members attend. Easter usually falls on the first Sunday of the month of April every year. Love and joy is spread on this day and everyone should be thankful to Jesus as he had died for our sins.

The true meaning of easter highlighted in my own point of view is this, well other people have come to say something which I take all of them to be true, but I'll give mine as a celebration which marks the coming back to life of the risen Lord-Jesus Christ, and one thing I love about this easter is this, it has and plays a significant role in the life of we christians giving us the hope of assurance that one day He is going to come back for us, and it also gives us the belief that we ourselves are good in everything He has taught us according to His word.
