The story of the book 'The Warrior' is based on the character Jake and in his course of life where he becomes a student in a boarding school after leaving his reserve. In the beginning of the story, the settings are all of a Native American reserve and after spending the initial years at the reserve, he moves to his mother's home which is located in Maryland. The story moves around his life only and has many twists and turns in it.
