Who Is More Senior Software Developer Or Quality Assurance Engineer By Ranking And By Salary?

Actually it is really tough to describe as who is more senior among software engineer and quality assurance engineer by ranking and by salary.If you see then in quality assurance department, if a person is new then he/she is known as quality assurance engineer. After few months of experience he/she can be known as senior quality assurance engineer. Last rank in QA department is of manager. On the other hand you will still see very few ranks in IT department. But in my opinion software developer is more senior than quality assurance engineer.

In quality assurance department, there are few softwares which are used for testing and these things are not changing rapidly but in IT department every day new programming languages and new techniques are coming.  A software engineer has to learn each new language if he/she wants to survive in market. For me a software engineer is more senior than a quality assurance engineer by ranking and by salary. A good software engineer is taking 30,000 to 40,000 easily but a quality assurance engineer is not taking more than 20,000.

So a software engineer taking more salary than a QA engineer in this context you can say that he/she is senior than QA engineer but it is somewhat tough to say who is senior by ranking.
