There are a lot of nutritional supplements and herbal remedies that have been found to help.
What things do have research evidence supporting them as relief for insect bites are:
- Flavinoids, especially Quercetin Known to lessen the severity of allergic response.
- Omega 3 fatty acids known to dampen down allergic reactions in animals, not clear if they have comparable effects in people, though.
- Bromelain This is a pineapple extract. It's applied topically (on your skin). Can be applied with tumeric to increase effectiveness.
- Lemon balm a traditional herbal treatment for lessening the irritation of insect bites.
- Juice of stinging nettle, I would take advice on this, but probably stew it down to a concentrate and then pour juice it on (it will definitely not sting you like the fresh plant can).
- Arnica, although better known as a homeopathic remedy, it can be applied topically on its own.
