Who Holds The Record For The Most Career Goals (in All Tournaments) In English Football?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The record for the most career goals in all trophies belongs to former West Bromwich Albion, Fulham, Leicester City and Shrewsbury Town player Arthur Rowley.

As well as holding the record for the most career league goals in English football, Rowley holds the record for the most career goals in all tournaments.  In a career beginning in nineteen forty seven and finishing in nineteen sixty five, Rowley scored a total of four hundred and sixty four league goals, with only thirty of those goals coming outside the league.

Former Chelsea, AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United forward Jimmy Greaves comes in second, with Greaves scoring a total of four hundred and twenty career goals, with three hundred and sixty six of those coming in the English football league.

In third comes the only player of recent times to make the list, former Oxford United, Liverpool and Tranmere Rovers player, John Aldridge scored four hundred and ten career goals.
