What Is The Film Best Of The Best About?

The film Best of the Best is a genre busting martial arts flick about the North American karate team in its confrontation against Team Korea.

The film follows the fortunes of Americans Alex, the working class single father whose wife has died who lives only for his son Walter and karate.  Then there's Travis, a texan bullyboy, Virgil, a buddhist taekwondoist, Tommy-Lee, the Korean-American martial arts teacher whose brother David was killed during a tournament, and Sonny Grasso, a working class Italian American who loves Opera.

They are pitted against the strength of the government funded Korean taekwondo team.  Lead by Die Han Park, the most feared taekwondo practitioner in the world.

The Americans are lead by Coach Frank Cuso who was involved in the team when Tommy-Lee's brother was killed.
The team overcome their personal obstacles to make it to Korea, where they face the might of Team Korea.

The matches are commentated by a real sports commentator, and we flash between personal connections and sports commentary.
