What Different Types Of Retriever Are There?

There are five types of retrievers recognized by the American Kennel Club. They are: Chesapeake Bay retriever also referred to as Chessies, is very protective of its property and people. They have distinctive eyes that are amber or yellow in colour. They can be seen in three basic colours i.e. sedge, brown and deadgrass.
Curly-Coated retrievers are known to be the tallest of the retrievers are a friendly and intelligent breed of dog. They are named after their coat of tight crisp curls. They are agile and balanced with a significant air of grace, strength and endurance.

Flat-Coated retriever, gundog breed from Britain, is a specialist retriever. They are either solid black or liver in colour. They have large almond shaped brown eyes and have a friendly and intelligent expression. They are lighter, more elegant and racier than other breed of retrievers.

Golden retriever is a popular breed of dog. They are athletic in built, symmetrical and well balanced. It is similar to Labrador but can be differentiated by its luxuriant coat.  
Labrador retriever is the most popular breed. They are extremely energetic, intelligent, friendly and good natured. They are usually brown, yellow or black in colour.
