Answer Question

Strokes can be very dangerous and need immediate treatment. Severe strokes can be very fatal and may kill a person. A stroke occurs when the blood supply to a part of the brain is suddenly cut off. This may be due to blood clot forming in one of the small arteries of the brain (cerebral thrombosis) or when an artery in the brain or at the base of the brain, ruptures and bleeding into the brain occurs (cerebral hemorrhage and sub- arachnoids hemorrhage).
Now the question is how to recognize a stroke. It has a lot of symptoms, such as severe headaches or a person may be confused and disorientated. Casualty's pulse is pounding. He may feel giddy. There can be cases in which the casualty may have previous history of headaches and giddiness. In severe cases a person can be found unconscious, or he can lapse into unconsciousness. Sometimes weakness down one side of the body or along one limb has been observed. Another symptom is one side of mouth droping saliva. Skin of casualty is hot and dry and the face is flushed.
Strokes are common in people above mid-fifties or people who have had a history of heart trouble.
