We are likely suffered from diseases if our body does not get all the nutrients in sufficient quantities. Disease that occurs due to deficiency of nutrients is called deficiency diseases. Deficiency of vitamins and mineral can cause several diseases. Deficiency of diseases cannot be passed from one person to another. They are therefore called non Communicable Diseases. Some non communicable diseases caused by harmful substances present in the environment. For example, fumes from cars and factories can cause disease of lungs and heart. Non communicable diseases can also be caused by bad habits such as smoking. Smoking is a major cause of heart and blood diseases.

They are present in air, in water, and in foods. Dirty water or foods have lots of germs. Germs can enter our body through our food or water or through air when we breathe. They can also enter our body through cuts in our skin, or when an insect bites us. The body of sick person has large number of germs. These can easily pass on to another person, who may also become risk.
