    What Disk Do I Use?

I want to restore the factory settings to my HP computer. When I do this, I will lose my pictures and documents. I would like to save my pictures and documents on a disk but I don't know which one to buy.

I would recommend a USB external drive.
I found an Aegis 80GB USB Portable Hard Drive at Micro Center for $102.99. @ www.microcenter.com
    and a 4GB JOGR USB Flash Drive Green for $37.99 @ www.microcenter.com

If you have XP or Vista no drivers should be required.

Take a look around at USB external drives. I have 3 Western Digital 500GIG drives that I use for misc. Things like backups. They were on sale at the time and cost about $150 each. Either that or if you have a CD burner, there should be a way to store the backup the drive on itself, then transfer it to a CD or possibly even send it directly to the CD.

I assume you have created the restore CDs. There is an option in the start menu to do this, just in case you have not. You will need them and once you begin the restore, it is to late and your hosed to restore.
