You can use a tablet known as "Capstar". This tablet will kill all the living fleas in cat above 2 pounds within 40 min, and is completely safe for a cat or a cat above that weight.
most flea medications tell you at what age it is safe to use.most common is 12 weeks.please remember, that fleas don't just go away if you treat the cat once-you will have to treat all areas where your cat sleeps or lays ,mostly fabric ,bedding ,apholstry...
this is best done with a home flea spray to kill life fleas and larvae,-in 4weeks ,you should do this again ,since most don't kill the eggs.adams has great products to keep your home flea free.if tour cat is healthy ,you can use frontline once per month to keep fleas off your kitten .i bathe my 16 persians once per month and wash them with a gentle ,but flea killing shampoo ,-strictly for prevention-since i do also grooming and people come in my home and you never know what they bring in on their pant legs from a dog -maybe?-prevention is the best cure!!!! the shampoo, safe even on kittens as young as 6 weeks ,is called no-dor-look it up -i have used it successfully for 10 years .no animal testing -no chemicals -and it works like a charm.
but also remember, best keep your kitty inside at all times -this way it is safe from all harm and will grow to ripe old age to give you lots of love.
As early as 12 weeks is written on most flea products .you can give the kitten a flea bath, then treat it monthly with frontline,or any other monthly treatment-frontline works best for me-
don't forget ,to treat the carpeted areas and sleeping areas ,since there might be fleas or larvae -wit a home flea spray
in all it would be best if you keep your kitten indoors completely, this way you prevent not only fleas but any other health hazards and your kitty will enjoy a long healthy life
It depends on what you would use to get rid of the fleas. I used an organic solution on the 2.5 week old kitten I found behind my school. The brand name was Cloud Nine. It used tree oils. They recommend mixing their flea killer in their organic shampoo but their shampoo had an age limit so I just mixed the flea killer with water.
