Why Was A Word I Used In Answer To A Medical Question, In It's Correct Context Rejected?

I think your anti-abuse device may be rather too blunt an instrument. The question was about foot pain, and I was responding with regard to possible gait problems and used the word L I M P. Why would any sensible person with access to a dictionary deem that abusive?

Some people are offended by off-color language, but I have my doubts as to whether or not someone is actually reviewing responses for language content, First of all, they respond all too fast for me to believe that someone is actually reading the answers. There is probably a list of words that the system looks for. I wrote something about Vice President Cheney, and I wasn't permitted to use D I C K, even though it's his name. Silly isn't it. It never even occurred to me that it was offensive until they pointed it out.

Hee hee! Well you've all figured out how to work around it, by putting spaces in between, but how on earth you're supposed to know that a word like l*mp would be censored...! Maybe the censor is a little too sensitive on that subject?! I got blasted off the site earlier this evening by using the word c r a p, which I mistakenly thought was quite acceptable. There is a definite difference between swearing UK versus swearing US-stylie. Us inhibited English seem to swear a lot more freely and vociferously than you oppressed Americans, and on our chat sites you will find all kinds of 'bad' words accepted without a murmur. The land of the free is not all it's cracked up to be, je crois.....

They censor the weirdest things! I have been censored for a recipe for grilling meat and used the term "dry rub". Then I was censored for referring to the name an unborn baby is called that starts with a "f". What really irks me is when you write a long explanation of something and when it is censored the screen goes blank! I just give up and go do something else. You fellow blurters will never know my take on that. It is too frustrating!

it seems to have worked by spacing the letters of c r e e p.
