When my daughter was 2 weeks old I noticed a hard round bulging vein the size of a dime on her left hand collar bone area. It is between her neck and shoulder. Is this something to be concerned about? She is now 5 weeks old, born May 11/08. My doctor is on holidays and I'm just keeping an eye on it for now unless it could be a problem

You have not mentioned that what is her age know? What problems she is having? There are many reasons of swollen veins but first thing is that whether it is vein or some thing else. I advise you to visit a paediatrician and get properly diagnosed and then start treatment if doctor prescribe.

She is 5 weeks old (May 11/08) and it doesn't seem to bother her but it really bulges and darkens when she cries. It is just something I'm keeping an eye on and my doctor is on holidays for another week.
