How Do You Calculate Time When You Know The Distance And Speed?

We are new to this.

Answer Question

    The formula for Time is simple if you know the distance and the speed of an object in motion.
    Speed = Distance / Time
    Therefore we can solve it to bring the equation in terms of Time;
    Time = Distance / Speed

      To calculate for distance, time  or speed, you need to know at least two of the factors: So for distance, (d=sxt); for time, (t=d/s) and for speed, also referred to as rate, (s=d/t)

      The way my physics teacher at school told me to do a calculation of this kind was to remember this visual pyramid (its not great as I've had to type it out):
      ^
      ___Distance___
      Speed X Time

      Then, when you have a missing value, you just need to do what the pyramid says. So if you have the values for speed and time, then as they are next to each other on the pyramid, you times them together:
      ^
      ____????____
      Speed X Time

      = Speed X Time = Distance

      And if you have one of the lower values missing, then you divide top by bottom:

      ^
      ___Distance___
      ???? X Time

      = distance/time = speed

      Or:
      ^
      ___Distance___
      Speed X ????

      = Distance/Speed = Time

      All you really have to remember then is that distance has to be on top of the pyramid, and that you either divide or times depending on what values you have at hand.

      Hope this helps!!

        Speed is distance over time use the triangle
        _D_
        S x T

        So distance is speed x time
        speed is distance divided by time
        time is distance divided by speed

        We know velocity=distance / time.
        So,Time=distance / velocity.

          Speed=distance/time
          suppose distance is 424 miles and .. Time is 9 hours .
          So you do 424 divided by 9
          which is
          47.11111111111111.... Speed miles per hour !!
          The answer is ......   47 m/h
