    A knowledge worker is also called as the Brain Worker or the Intellectual worker. It is used to refer to a person who is employed because of his/her knowledge in their field rather than their ability to perform manual labor.

    Normally people in the services sector are called as Knowledge workers such as teachers, scientists, lawyers, system analysts, programmers.

    This name was introduced by Peter Drucker in the year 1959. He used it to refer to a person who is working with information or one who uses knowledge in the workplace. A knowledge workers helps in development of business intelligence and also helps in increasing intellectual capital.
