If i understand why your asking the question it would be to have stock stored for daily orders or to supply different stores with out having to continually have the inventory shipped from out of state or your area...and by buying in bulk or selling in bulk you make and save money. Drawback is all the overhead/outflow of monies that could be earning money or be used to purchase other stock directly from the supplier.

One big advantage is you can buy products in bulk quantities at very good prices, and store the product for distribution.
