What Is Military Rule?

    Military rule is one where the administration of a country and the implementation of its law and order are under the control of the Military. It may take the form of a military dictatorship or a military structure or junta. It s based on a militarist ideology which supposes that the affairs of the state are best run in a disciplined and structured manner and where better to draw on these then the military who have an abundance of both. In most societies the military most notably the army is a potent political force as it holds sway through its shear military might. In times of political uncertainty and strife certain military leaders may decide that either a permanent or transitory military government is best for their country. Though through out time there have been various forms of military rulers and governments most have sooner or later failed. As most military governments, over a long period of time are characterized by an absence of freedom in some way or form.
