Joeseph hud son is another victorian inventor, he invented the whistle which was useful because at this time the police force had to rely on rattles.
In Birmingham, the late 19th century in 1870 Hudson founded J Hudson and co. Which later became the largest whistle manufacturer.
In 1883 he entered a competition held by the police force in London to design a better way of attracting people.He won a contract to provide the police with there new devices. A small but loud whistle.
He later invented the referee whistle for football as hancerchives had to be previously used.

George Eastman founded the Eastman Kodak company and invented the the roll film, helping to bring photography to it’s main stream.
In 1874, Eastman became intrigued with photography, but found the process awkward. It required coating a glass plate with a liquid emulsion, which had to be quickly used before it dried.
After a few years of experimenting with british gelatine emulsions, Eastman had created a dry photographic plate. He then patented it in both america and the uk.
In 1884, Eastman developed a photographic medium that replaced fragile glass plate with an photo-emulsion coated on a paper roll also Known as the modern camera film.
