What About The Artificial Honeybee Farming?
Answers
Before man learned to manufacture sugar, he depended for his sweets largely upon honey, which formed an important, element in human diet. Honeybees have been most intimately associated with mankind, since very ancient times, and have reached the highest degree of domestication. Honey is like Fahiyan, have described its se as a medicine. Bee-keeping therefore, is one of the oldest agriculture pursuits of man. The modern scientific and commercial method of bee- keeping for the production of honey and bee's wax is known as apiculture.
The primitive method of collecting honey is by killing the resting bees by flames and procuring their combs. The combs are then out and squeezed to extract honey. This method is not only crude but also the honey thus extracted is not pure.
The honeybees are now reared in artificial hives, with large brood chambers and beeswax sheets called comb foundations. The bees are attracted to form cells and combs on the comb foundations, which are then removed for extraction of honey.various models of artificial beehives, have been developed.
Bee keeping or apiculture is widely practised in U.S.A., Canada and Australia. In Pakistan also it is thriving cottage industry widespread in northern areas.
