Who Created The Muppets?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Muppets are a set of puppets created by Jim Henson. Each Muppet is created by him in the Creature shop. After the death of their creator Jim Henson in 1990, Walt Disney Company bought the rights and is now the owner of Muppets from early 2004.

The word Muppet was derived by combining the words "marionette" and "puppet" by their creator Jim Henson. Kermit, The Frog is one of the most famous Muppets. Most of the Muppets created by Jim Henson had large eyes and a wide mouth. They were mostly carved out of foam rubber and later covered with fleece. Nylon strings, ostrich feathers and yarn were typically used for creating the hair of the Muppets. Their eyes were made out of ping-pong balls. Muppets are commonly used to represent humans, animals, extra-terrestrial creatures, robots etc.
