Answer Question

Compost can be made over or above ground; you may either dig a pit in the ground or use fencing of brick or wood to compost materials in your back yard. These days specially prepared compost tumblers; plastic containers etc are widely available in the market. The general rule is that the larger the amount of material the faster the process of composting. Compost can contain materials as diverse as vegetable waste, grass clippings, animal manure, bird droppings, news papers, garden waste, fish scraps, newspapers etc. There should be a layer of at least eight inches of earth and mud above the layer of this material. Compost activators and earthworms can be purchased from a nursery or horticulturist to speed up the process. The material should be loosely placed and not squeezed in as air is important to decomposition process. The mixture also should be damp and neither completely dry nor too soggy. It can take as long as a year or two at the beginning of the composting process to get the rich output but if properly managed the process can be speeded up considerably. All you have to do is make a compilation of many bio-degradeable things along with some ves and dirt and then you let it rot.-Trey
