Why Was Flowers In The Attic Banned?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Because of a chapter in which the brother chris, rapes his sister cathy. It is very very descriptive about it and is not material for children though i dont think it should have gotten banned for it. Whats funny is i got the book as a gift for my 12 birthday and read it and it really did not effect me to much

FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC, by V.C. Andrews.
Considered "dangerous" because it contains "offensive passages concerning
      incest and sexual intercourse."
Challenged by Richmond (Rhode Island) High School, 1983.

Likely because of sexual content, violence, and religious themes.
