Before you cut up those cards, make sure you get the phone numbers. After you cut them up, call the banks and negotiate lower interest rates. From this day forward, shread all pre-approved credit card offers and blank checks. Good luck.
The best and fastest way to pay your credit card debt is to earn by doing extra work. There is no point to take another loan to pay it quickly. However, if you really want to pay it within days then you have to talk to some of your relatives to borrow some money.
Tip 1 Know your loan's credit terms.
Tip 2 Understand the terms of the agreement before you accept a loan or credit card.
Tip 3 Set aside money each payday for emergencies.
Tip 4 Set a monthly limit for charges and stick to it.
Tip 5 Shop as carefully with credit as you do with cash.
Tip 7 Pay bills promptly to avoid penalties and to keep finance charge low.
Tip 8 Don't take on more monthly credit payments than you can afford.
Tip 9 Keep credit card information (including phone number of issuer) in a safe place in case your cards are lost or stolen.
Tip 10 Keep copies of sales slips and compare charges when bills arrive. If there's a mistake, call your credit card company right away.
First, cut up your cards. Save the lowest interest one for emergencies, if you must. Then start paying MORE than the minimum payment on the highest interest card or account first. Continue paying on all your debts at the same time. When the highest interest acct is paid, start paying extra on the next highest, etc., etc., etc.
Some banks or companies will tell you to establish a prepaid credit card to re-establish your credit. BEWARE! You might end up owing more in charges and fees before you ever use your card than would help you. Most of these kind of credit fixes do two things: Make money for the lender, and get YOU DEEPER in debt.
Lastly, but not LEAST, establish a budget, and stick to it! Incorporate an entertainment amount into your budget; this way you aren't tempted to "borrow" from your other budgeted items. Good luck.
I have also watched a special on this and once you get rid of your cards and combine your debt then you can search for the lowest interest rate cards in other states and apply for one to put the balance on. Get the book by jean chatzky. Coaches.aol.com/money/jean-chatzky/main
