    Both of these problems could be due to age,poor nutrition,allergies to his diet or other conditions in the home or yatd. You may want to try giving him Brewers yeast tablets
    2 for a large dog, for several weeks to see if that helps,also giving him a bath with an oatmeal based dog shampoo may help with the dry coat and skin flaking.
    If these do not seem to be working, seek a veterinarians advice.
