When Was The First Electric Guitar Invented, And By Who And Where?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The first electric guitars where all hollow body electrics, like the type oasis use, with proper electric pickups, not an electro acoustic, they were invented by *research* Adolph Rickenbacker, and his lesser known partners George Beauchamp and Paul Barth in 1931

the first modern styled solid body electric was invented by Les Paul himself, it took him years, he tried so many times, with so many different woods, and bridge designs, to make a guitar that purely amplified the strings, with very little effect by the wood, unlike hollow-bodies where the wood, shape ect of the sound cavity change the tone drastically, he made the very first electric solid body guitar in 1940/41, it is unknown which as he died recently and didn't remember what year it was in,
