Carnivorous (also called insectivorous) plants include pitfall traps, flypaper traps, snap traps (includes the familiar Venus Fly Trap), bladder traps and lobster-pot traps.  There are hundreds of different species of plants that eat insects.  They are rare, but thrive in environments where nutrients in the soil are scarce, and they will digest any insects that they are able to trap.  They are not man-eaters!
