What Is An Orgasm?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

An human orgasm is a complex psychophysiological experience that occurs in both the male and female at the peak of sexual intercourse.  The orgasm is the rapid contraction of the lower pelvic muscles which causes I highly pleasurable sensation.  Physical responses are not isolated to the pelvic region as the muscle spasm in other areas are common.

Orgasms in the male can be stimulated directly through the penis, the anus or the prostate, the female through clitoral stimulation, internal vaginal or anal.  Each type of orgasm is different.  Orgasms often result in physical ejaculation of liquid in the male and female but orgasms without liquid secretion are also possible.

It is well documented that men achieve orgasm easier than women, with 52% of women admitting to having faked an orgasm.  Women can have more than one orgasm without a rest, whereas men require a physical resting period between orgasms.

Rather hideously, in the past, women who were psychologically disturbed or repressed were given 'forced orgasms' which seems barbaric today.
