The solution to the above problem is as follows:
Lea's age = x
Lester's age = y
According to given conditions x=8+y
After 4 years
x=2y
Putting value of y in above equation
x= 2(x-8)
x=2x-16
x=16
Putting value of x to find value of y
16=2y
y = 8
Hence the age of lea is 16 and that of Lester is 8 years. And they are 12 and 4 years old now respectively.
