How Do I Save My Pet Fish?

I have a siamese fighting fish named nemo, he's been alive for about a year and was in pretty good shape. But just this morning I saw little patches on his body where his skin was actually peeling off! Now it's spread more throughout his body that i can see the pink of his flesh! He can barely move but is still breathing. I've searched everywhere online but couldn't find any useful information. Please someone tell me why this is happening and what can I do to stop it!
