What Exactly Does A Software Engineer Do? What Is The Difference Between A Hardware Engineer?

Answer Question

A software engineer is the engineer of a software. He makes the software. He first takes the requirement of the software from the customer, analyzes it, designs the software layout and does programming and then tests the software. At the end installs the software for the customer.

In a proper software house, a software engineer works on different phases. There are some software engineers who only design, some only write codes, some only test the software, some only assure quality.

A software engineer evaluates the the computer needs of the general public. He/she then accordingly creates a program (e.g. Microsoft or Windows) that addresses those needs. If a software engineer creates a program that efficiently addresses the needs of users, then he/she will strike it rich. A hardware engineer creates or improves devices. Both fields are much harder than what they first seem like. Yet, both are fascinating!
