My Cat Is 1 Y/o. She Always Growls Even When We Are Very Nice. She Mostly Growls When We Pick Her Up But She Likes The Love. Does Anyone Know Why Shes Likes To Growl SO Much ??
Shes a very nice cat but she just likes to growl so much and I'm wondering why. We don't even do anything and she still growls/hisses. I don't know why but she has been doing this since she was around 6 months old and she turned 1 on valentines day. Shes a great cat besides the growling and being so mean to others. I would like to know why she likes to growl and hiss so much. And i uploaded a picture just as a visual.

Do you have other pets, or children? If so, pets can be very jealous about the time spent or not spent with you. In a way, animals are a lot like people. If your cat becomes upset when a certain child or adult picks them up. This could be a sign of abuse with the animal.

It depends if she was born a pedigree or a mutt. If she was born a pedigree, she is likely to be the timid one.(I heard of this in books) If she was born a mutt, she is likely not used to the human environment.(My cat is like this)

Oops i don't think my other comment went in but Joey is a domestic short haired cat like it says on her papers. But most likely shes a mixed breed like most cats. But usually cats are nice and not mean . But Zoey growls at people sometimes when they just walk past and not even look at her. But she mostly likes me and my mom. But she will growl at my dad and brother and sister when they don't do something or they do. I play with Zoey all the time, she likes to play rough with me and bite my hands and pounce on me, but that's only proper like play fight with another kitten. So shes fine when she plays with me, but anyone else she just hisses and spits at them. She will growl at EVERYONE no matter what.

She's a domestic short hair is what is says on her paper thing. But I'm pretty sure shes a mixed breed like most cats. But she just growls at anybody no matter if she knows them or likes them or not. Shes happy if she has seen them for a long time, but most of the time shes mean even if we are nice to her. But she is sleeping and purring right now but that doesn't mean anything really cause I'm not even touching her. But when i pet her a lot whenever shes doing anything she just likes to growl and hiss whenever we pick her up, but she does like people. It's almost like growling is her purr.

Well there's me and my younger brother and sister. She growls when just anybody picks her up. Even when she hasn't even met them or if shes known them all the time. Like my grandma she just hates and she has done nothing to harm her. My cat just growls at anyone and everybody.
