This Question is Answered

My Cockatiel Is Always Biting & Scratching Herself. She Has Very Heavy Powder Dust & Very Flakey Skin Otherwise She Is A Very Playful Happy Contented Little Girl. She Is Approximately 2yrs Old. What Could It Be?

I am new to this site so i hope there is someone who can help me please. Could my little girl possibly have mites although i can see or find no traces of these. Her bird cage mate died 2 months ago but the only affect this has had on her is that she has really come out of herself!

She may be starting to molt or be stressed out from the loss of her mate. If this keeps up I would take her to the vet and have them see it they can determine the problem.

My Cockatiel is DEFFINATELY NOT stressed or moulting, she has had this problem ever since we got her. I thank you for your answers but will take samples to our avian vet. Keep you posted.
