    UNESCO is United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It started in the year 1945, in United Nations. 191 nations form the mebers of the UNESCO. The programmes that UNESCO focuses on are education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture and communication and information.in short, it is an agency that promotes arts, education and communication.
    The General Conference, the Executive Board and the Secretariat hold the responsibility of policy-making, governance, and day-to-day administration at UNESCO.
    Some of the projects sponsored by UNESCO are international science programmes, regional and cultural history projects, international cooperation agreements to secure the world cultural and natural heritage and to preserve human rights, to name a few. Some of the events include, World Press Freedom Day, 3 May and International Decade for the Promotion of a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World.
