How To Motivate A Team Member To Complete Work?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Work together with him until the task is through and then I'd have to tell him , we like you here and want you to continue on . So we all need to shape up , if that does not work , you need to do what you know is right

I would have a meeting with him/her and explain to them the importance and necessity of completing their work on time. I have done it at my job. If the person under me...or next to me is lagging, then sometimes I cannot complete my work, as I need their completed work to continue onto the next step with my work. I do think your work environment should be comfortable & friendly....after all, you spend a good portion of your life there...(sigh), but you also have to have a balance. You are there to work and you do get paid for your services. So, I think everyone should hold up there end of the bargain as best as they can.

It really depends on the case. You should detail on how this member is like. Usually just be upfront and say, "lets finish up." That's what I would say.
