How Many Electrons On The Outside Shell Of Na?

    There is just one electron in the outermost or the valance shell of sodium atom and this means that it needs only one more electron to reach the stable state making it extremely reactive.

      Sir,

      there is only 1 electron in 3rd shell of Na......as the electronic configuration of Na is 2,8,1...and it can hold up to 3 shells so in 1st shell it will have 2 electrons 8 in 2nd and 1 in 3rd
