What Is Shopping At An Ikea Store Like?

Answer Question

Ikea is a chain of homestyle stores that originated in Sweden but have become very popular all over the world. The UK now has about a dozen stores.

The items for kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom are set out in stages sets in the store, so you walk through a series of furnished rooms. The style of Ikea is unique – the designs are classy and simple and the idea is to incorporate loads of storage to keep family clutter under control.

The items for sale are generally good quality but they are very reasonably priced. Everything is designed with families and children in mind – so a lot of covers etc are removable and washable. Boxed storage plays a big part in the bedroom and living ideas, and lighting is also an important feature.

The store produces a catalogue and has a detailed website but mail order and internet ordering is not possible. Delivery is also expensive and really, the only way to buy Ikea stuff is to go to the store and take it away with you.

Everyone gains their own individual impressions throughout life, and that goes for shopping at somewhere like IKEA too.

For many the selection of items available is overwhelming. For some it is like the biggest Christmas market in the world, for some it is too much. It can be like wandering through a massive warehouse, or it can be very frustrating because of the sheer size and selection of items available.
