    No, Colitis is a digestive disease which involves the inflammation of the colon. It is classified as an inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Signs and symptoms of colitis are pain and tenderness in the abdomen, depression, generalized aches and pains, fatigue, swelling in the abdomen, gas, bloating , indigestion, heartburn,  bleeding ulcers on the colon(indicators of ulcerative colitis), blood and mucus in stool and diarrhea or constipation depending on the type of colitis. The types of Colitis are Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's Colitis, Diversion Colitis, Ischemic Colitis, Infectious Colitis, Fulminant Colitis, Colagenous Colitis, Chemical Colitis, Microscopic Colitis, Lymphocytic Colitis and Atypical Colitis. It is diagnosed by tests such as Sigmodoiscopy, colonoscopy, Barium Eneme, Stool Culture Test and Blood chemistry tests. The treatment of colitis is done through anti-biotics and anti inflammatory drugs. Surgery may be required in some types such as Fulminant Colitis.
