USB is basically the short form of Universal Serial Bus. It is basically a type of data storage device that is of NAND type and has a USB interface. The basic advantage of USB over normal storage medium is that it is removable, carries larger amounts of data and is also rewritable. Also it is much smaller in size and is easier to carry.

The Storage capacity of a USB can range from 64 MB to 128 GB. These are durable in  nature, are more reliable than a floppy or a CD, come in a compact shape are much faster in operation.
