What Is The Best Moral Philosophy For Decision Making?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Morally? Simply put, i believe it's "do no harm". Unfortunately but realistically we aren't always afforded time to think about what to do or say. Sometimes we must make a snap decision. Even given the time to consider possible results from our words and actions we can wind up hurting someone. I think that if we start early enough with the aforementioned philosophy as our core directive we will grow into making better and better decisions to where it will become second nature for us. We'll begin to not think about it because we believe it's the right way to act and speak. If it's about being truthful with someone - sometimes the truth hurts - short of being obnoxious or sarcastic about it, we may just hurt someone. But better a little hurt initially than not being truthful and letting the person get hurt more severely by keeping our mouth shut. Me personally? I make every effort to "do no harm".
