Body mass also known as body weight is basically a term that is sued to help describe the mass of any organism's body. This is measured in terms of kilograms and sometimes in terms of pounds or even stone and pounds. A pound is approximately 0.45 kg, and a stone (14 lb) is around 6.35 kg.
Body mass is encountered in association with food and feeding patterns, normal and abnormal growth and development, the physiological and hormonal manage of eating and digestion, foraging for food, lack of food and other motivations to eat, troubles in variable body weight, obesity, eating disorders like anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. An example of body weight usage is in sports. For example in Boxing you have categories in body weight.
