Is It True That If You Resist Paying Taxes In The U.S. That The Government Will Escalate The Effort To Collect And That If You Do Not Relent, They Will Eventually Kill You?
Is this true anywhere else too?
Answers
No. It's quite untrue that the IRS will come and murder you for not paying taxes. But it is true that they increasingly can and do take legal means to collect the debt and escalate efforts in legal ways. For example they may seize your assets and personal belongings to satisfy the debt, including your home. Maybe this can feel like they are killing you! LOL! The IRS may also prosecute a person and put them in prison for tax evasion and fraud (if they have committed fraud to avoid their tax payments). Usually, if a citizen has not committed criminal offenses and co-operates, the IRS offers repayment terms and programs, to those individuals.

Yes it's true. So don't emigrate to the USA unless you intend to comply with our tax laws!

Missed the point. This is a good start though and I thank you for making an effort.
I think you are right about the IRS. The IRS isn't the entire government. I think the legal means they would employ would require some other government agency to enforce. Eventually, the enforcement would be quite violent.
I wonder if they send a sheriff to evict you from the home they seized, and you resisted, would the effort to evict be aborted if you simply refused in a polite way?
The repayment programs and etc. seem like relenting to me. I am asking about ever increasing efforts to collect - and ever increasing resistance.
