Which Religion Is More Sense "Christianity Or Islam"?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Christianity. God is always a constant, or unchanging, in the Bible. His goals and plans follow His teachings and a clear direction can be determined.

The Islam faith's direction cannot readily be determined, because, their god, Allah, has "the right to change his mind" about what he feels, what he likes, and what path's his followers should follow, including directives about suicide sacrifices and the rewards available. The main constants in that religion are 1) it is a religion based on works - adhere to certain rituals and hope you've done enough 'right' to make it to their 'paradise' (anything else you do, including lack of repentance doesn't matter); and 2) there is no allowance for trying to convert others to their faith. Yes, they accept converts into their ranks, but their instructions (although most Muslims are 'moderates' and do not actively follow their scriptures) are to "kill the infidels", as many as you can without remorse; not the alternative "Show them the error of their ways and help them"... That part is left out.

God is always the same yesterday, today tomorrow. God is love. I find no contradiction in the bible, you have to read the whole scriptures, not just partial verses to understand the meaning. God was angry with israel because they forgot about him and practiced idolatry.there are so many other scriptures where god is merciful, slow to get angry and full of unfailing love.religion is not based on your feelings.a man should not lean into his own understanding, but seek the wisdom of god.

I don't subscribe to either of the faiths they are based on, but I've read the Bible, and I've read the Qur'an. I believe the Qur'an makes a lot more sense; it has a more structured and unified message. Whereas the two books of the Bible (Old and New Testament) are almost always contradicting each other.

Please provide a "for instance". The New Testament compliments and completes the Old Testament, and the more times I read it, the clearer it gets.
And as I mentioned before, how can you follow the teachings of a god who leaves himself an "out" so that all of the teachings are relative to how he feels at that moment, and he can change his mind whenever he gets the urge which therefore changes the meanings of his teachings. If it doesn't remain constant, it lacks structure.

It just always seemed to me like the Bible was talking about two different gods. The Old Testament Bible is an angry and spiteful god, a great example of this being the ban. But then the New Testament God tells us we should love our enemies, and turn the other cheek? A small sample, but a glaring contradiction. As for the latter part of your comment, Allah does not "change his mind with mood" at least no more than Yahweh does; but the people who interpret the scriptures do the ones guilty.
