'When you wish upon a star' was a song which was written by Ned Washington and Leigh Harline which was sung by Cliff Edwards who also voiced the character of Jiminy Cricket in the same movie. The song was written around in 1939 and was featured in the 1940 Walt Disney classic animated movie, Pinocchio. The song received the Best Original Song at the Academy Awards in the same year. The song has won many awards and is still being sung and recognized till this date. The song later became an official theme of the Disney Company.
