How Does One Do Confession?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Confession is the process or act of confessing ones sins or guilt. It is found in the Christian faith where a person can atone for his sins by confessing his sins. These sins are then forgiven by God for the sake of Jesus Christ.

In terms of legal matters it is believed to be a person's admittance of the crime that he or she committed. From a religious point of view confessions are carried out in a church where a person enters a confession booth and tells all his sins to the priest. The priest may then prescribe penance for the sins committed and generally advises a person not to commit the sins again. In a psychological sense confessions provide a person with closure and help him or her get over the deed committed.

I would just add that confessing your sins isn't enough...you have to be truly sorry for having committed them and be resolved not to let them reoccur.

Confess your sins to God by telling him what youve done, and be sorry for what youve done, asking forgiveness by the bloodshed of Jesus Christ.
