Can A Nose Culture Be Taken Without An Open Sore For A MRSA Test?
Med center won't take nose culture for daughter who has symptoms of MRSA but her sore was drained at ER a it is healing with antibiotic so it is closing up. We need to know for sure is she had/has MRSA

The MRSA is staphylococcus bacterium which causes infections on skin. They also cause systemic infections when inhaled. The MRSA can be acquired from community and also from hospital. If your daughter is responding to antibiotic treatment the there is no need for culture. But if you want it to be done ask the doctor to culture it for pathogen.
