What Are Some Of The Barriers To Pharmacogenomics Progress?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Pharmacogenomics is a creating research field that is till in its infancy. A few of the following barriers will have to be control before many pharmacogenomics advantages can be realized.
    • Complexity of giving gene changes that affect medicines response. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are DNA series changes that exist when only one nucleotide (A,T,C,or G) in the genome series is changed. SNPs exist each 100 to 300 bases with the 3-billion-base human genome, because of it millions of SNPs must be recognize and analyzed to explain their involvement.

    • Limited drug alternatives, If patients have gene variations that saved them using these drugs, they may be left without any alternatives for treatment.
    • Disincentives for medicine firms to make multiple pharmacogenomic things. Many pharmaceutical firms have been successful with their "one size fits all" method to medicines development. Since it price hundreds of millions of dollars to bring a medicine to market for sale.

    • Educating health care producers .Introducing many pharmacogenomic things to treat the similar condition for unlike population subsets undoubtedly will complex the procedure of prescribing and dispensing medicines. Doctors must run an extra diagnostic step to explain which medicine is  suitable to every patient.
