How Many People Die Around The World In Swimming Pool Accidents?

Answer Question

Well, it is difficult to say how many people die in swimming pool accidents. According to the statistics, around 400,000 thousand people die in drowning accidents, 9000 of whom die in the United States of America each year alone. Despite swimming classes and safety information as well as training classes available in almost all countries, all these people die in drowning accidents either in swimming pools or at beaches or other water sources. This is an alarming number and only calls for more attention to be paid to water safety.

Children between the ages of 1-5 drown more often then children any other age group. It is the major cause child death in Australia where 20 children die every year because of drowning. People between the ages of 20-25 also have a high drowning rate which is about 25 people each year on an average.

Hopefully more people will build proper fences around their pools to prevent this.

My god. I just finished my second swimming pool lesson and I am now more afraid.

I actually drowned tonight in the pool although my instructor was next to me to rescue me out. I am so much more afraid and unable to overcome the fear. Any tips?
