How Can I Keep Warm In Winter?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

One of the simplest ways to keep warm in winter is to wear lots of layers.  Wearing just a big jumper over bare skin will simply allow cold air to hit the skin and reduce body heat.  A camisole top/vest, T shirt and then a jumper will help a person feel much warmer.
If you are going out then it is important to wear a hat, since as much as 30% of body heat can be lost through the head.  (This is particularly important if you are bald).
Within the home it is important to ensure that your home is well insulated and within the UK, Government grants may be available to help with insulation, so it is probably worthwhile checking with your local council to ascertain if financial assistance is possible.
Try not to overheat your home in winter (tempting as this may be).  If your home is too hot, then you will feel  the cold more when you go out.
